ORAL AND MAXILLOFACIAL ASSOCIATES ANNOUNCES PLANS TO MOVE EAST OFFICES TO WILSON
ESTATES MEDICAL PARK
Move Will Reinforce Focus on Patient Care
for Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons
Group
(Wichita, KS) – Meeting the changing needs of its patient population is the
primary motivation behind the move of the area’s largest oral and
maxillofacial surgery group to Wilson Estates Medical Park. Ground
will be broken in early 2003 on a new state-of-the-art, patient-focused
clinic for Oral and Maxillofacial Associates (OMA) at the 33-acre
medical park being developed by Laham Development and Ritchie Associates
just south of 21st Street on Webb Road. The announcement was made
by George E. Laham, II, of Laham Development.
Currently located at 3535 East Central and 982
N. Tyler Road, OMA will relocate its east Central offices – founded
in 1974 by Jerome M. Laham, D.D.S., P.A. and now-retired Arthur
J. Glass, D.D.S., P.A. – to a 7,500 sq.-ft. building at Wilson
Estates Medical Park. Four OMA surgeons will serve patients at
the new office, including co-owners Kenneth W. Nelson, D.D.S.,
P.A.; and John D. Gagnon, D.D.S., P.A.;
Laham; and Bryan F. Bailey, D.D.S. The move is anticipated in late
Summer 2003.
The OMA offices will encompass all aspects of
the group’s practice, including removal of impacted wisdom teeth,
dental implants, facial reconstructive surgery for congenital defects
and traumatic injuries, and surgeries related to cysts and tumors
of the jaws and associated structures.
According to Nelson, the new offices will nearly
triple the size of the current location. “In addition to the increased
space, our new offices will provide distinctive, comfortable surroundings
for OMA patients,” said Nelson. “We are confident that the location
will provide further convenience and accessibility for our expanding
patient base.”
The OMA offices will feature limestone and stucco
detailing with a tile roof, consistent with the development’s Mediterranean-style
architecture. The 7,500 sq.-ft. interior will feature 13 examination/surgery
rooms, a centralized recovery area, state-of-the-art equipment,
and a private exit area, with administrative offices located in
the lower level.
George E. Laham, II, of Laham Development, developers
of Wilson Estates Medical Park, noted that the addition of OMA
is strategic to the Medical Park’s concept to provide diverse quality
healthcare in a centralized location. “With patient satisfaction
the focus of the Medical Park’s development, the addition of Oral & Maxillofacial
Associates brings a new dimension to our healthcare offerings and
a caliber of care that’s in keeping with our mission,” he said.
“We are pleased to welcome this distinguished group of oral and
maxillofacial surgeons.”
Jerome Laham has 36 years’ experience and Nelson has 25 years’,
with five years for Gagnon and six years for Bailey. All four
have staff appointments at area hospitals and ambulatory centers,
and are Diplomates of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial
Surgeons and Fellows of the American Association of Oral and
Maxillofacial Surgeons. The group will welcome a new associate
in July 2003. Wichitan Roy E. Cole, D.D.S., M.D., is a graduate
of the University of Missouri-Kansas City Medical and Dental
School and is currently completing his residency at the Truman
Medical Center, Kansas City.
OMA joins Grene Vision Group who recently announced
the development of a 30,000 sq.-ft. building at Wilson Estates
Medical Park. In an adjacent Laham Development project, Legacy
Park – Wilson Estates, Prairie View, the state’s largest private
behavioral and mental health services provider, recently announced
the purchase of a 122,000-sq.-ft piece of land for its east Wichita
office.
Designed for state-of-the-art healthcare and convenience,
Wilson Estates Medical Park will include up to 220,000 sq.-ft.
of offices and as many as 16 buildings amid a spacious, campus-style
setting offering an array of healthcare services. In keeping with
the development’s patient-centered focus, each building in Wilson
Estates Medical Park will be visible from a single loop drive,
making all medical offices accessible from one central roadway.
A traffic signal will be installed at Wilson Estates Parkway and
Webb Road.
Wilson Estates Medical Park will feature abundant
green space and doorside parking, and will reflect the distinctive
architectural style of Bradley Fair and Wilson Estates with additional
masonry detailing. Strategically located near K-96 Expressway and
the I-35 Andover Turnpike, Wilson Estates Medical Park will be
minutes from fast-growing northeast Wichita neighborhoods, Bradley
Fair shopping center, the Hilton Garden Inn, and offices such as
Wilson Estates Office Park and Legacy Park. Plans for the development
were announced earlier this year.
Project architect for Wilson Estates Medical Park
is Shelden Architecture. J.P. Weigand & Sons is the exclusive broker. Financing is provided by Intrust Bank.
