COLD STONE CREAMERY OPENS AT 29TH & ROCK ROAD
Renovated Center Now 100% Leased
(WICHITA, KS) – The fastest-growing ice cream concept in the country,
Cold Stone Creamery, has opened on the northeast corner of 29th
& Rock Road in the newly-renovated Rock 29 Center a project
of Laham Development. The 1,400-square-foot store owned by franchisees
Doug and Adam Wessley opened Friday, June 10 to enthusiastic crowds.
Wessley said Cold Stone makes everything fresh in the store each
day, including their ice creams, waffle cones and brownies. Known
for the smooth and creamy texture of their ice creams, Cold Stone
customizes their product by combining a variety of mix-ins on a
frozen granite stone as the customer watches. Cold Stone Creamery
has more than 1,000 stores operating in 47 states, the Caribbean
and Guam. It is an independently owned franchise system headquartered
in Scottsdale, Arizona. The Rock Road store is the Wessley's second
Cold Stone location in Wichita. The two also own Lamar's Donuts
at 10051 West 21st.
With Cold Stone's arrival, the recently-renovated 9,000-square-foot
Rock 29 Center is now 100% leased. The ice cream store joins T-Mobile
which opened in March of this year, relocating its Wichita retail
services from inside their call center at 2525 North Woodlawn to
a 3,000-square-foot space at the center.
H & R Block opened in December 2004 and Starbucks and GameStop
were the center's first tenants opening in May 2004.
The Rock 29 Center completed extensive renovations in spring 2004
adding a landscaped, shaded walkway, patio tables and seating, expansive
window space to maximize retail visibility and prominent signage.
J.P. Weigand & Sons, Inc. is the exclusive leasing agent. Project
