KANZA BANK BUYS LOT AT REGENCY LAKES TO BUILD EAST WICHITA LOCATION

(KINGMAN, KS) – KANZA Bank, a 100-year-old Kingman-based bank, has purchased a 48,000-square-foot lot in Regency Lakes Shopping Center, 21st Street North & Greenwich Road in Wichita. John E. Boyer, IV, KANZA Bank CEO/chairman, announced that the land is the future home of KANZA Bank's second full-service bank in Wichita.

Boyer noted that access to K96 Highway and the growth of surrounding retail and residential development makes Regency Lakes an ideal location. "Our West Wichita bank has enjoyed positive growth," says Boyer. "With a Regency Lakes location, we expect to be in prime position to serve new and existing customers in East Wichita, Andover and Butler County." Regency Lakes is a project of Laham Development. The transaction was brokered by Doug Malone of J.P. Weigand & Sons.

Cathy Erickson, vice president for Laham Development, commented on the addition of KANZA Bank to Regency Lakes. "With the continued momentum of residential and retail development along the 21st Street corridor, KANZA Bank is an important addition to creating a synergy of services for the area."

Erickson added, "As residential development continues from Webb Road east to Andover Road, 21st Street has become an important east/west arterial. The convenience of having banking, retail, restaurants, schools, even a first-class hospital on that artery makes the area even more desirable." Situated for convenient access to K-96 highway, Regency Lakes is centrally located for regional traffic and currently features a 400,000 square foot shopping area with Chili's Grill & Bar, SuperTarget, and World Market.

KANZA Bank currently has three full-service banks in Kingman, Anthony and Wichita, and an additional loan processing office in Wichita. The Bank opened at 13605 West Maple in 2001, and the loan processing office 8621 E. 21st Street in 2005. Groundbreaking is expected in late 2007, for a 2008 opening.

KANZA Bank is a full-service bank based in Kingman, with a location in Anthony and West Wichita at 13605 W. Maple. With assets of $180 million, the Bank was recently listed as #8 statewide in both return on assets and return on equity in a Wichita Eagle Business Today story. KANZA Bank has three locations, 151 N. Main in Kingman, 13605 W. Maple in West Wichita, and 102 E. Main in Anthony. KANZA Bank also has a loan processing office at 8621 East 21st Street in East Wichita.

In 2005 KANZA Bank marked its 100th anniversary. The Bank was founded in 1905 by area farmers, ranchers and businessmen, including members of the Boyer family. Today KANZA Bank is led by a fourth generation of Boyers, John E. Boyer, IV, CEO/chairman; and Clark E. Boyer, president.
