CHILI'S UNDERWAY AT REGENCY LAKES
(Wichita, KS) - Regency Lakes Shopping Center at 21st & Greenwich, a project of Laham Development, will be the site of the city's newest Chili's Bar & Grill. The announcement was made by Laham Development vice president, Cathy Erickson, who indicated the 6,000-sq.-ft. restaurant owned by Brinker International (NYSE: EAT) will be located on Greenwich Road in front of World Market.
According to Erickson, ground was broken in late September with an opening planned for spring 2006. This will be the city's third Chili's, with additional locations at Central & Rock and Central & Maize. Chili's is one of several Brinker International concepts including Romano's Macaroni Grill and On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina at Laham's Bradley Fair development, as well as Maggiano's Little Italy, Corner Bakery Café and Rockfish Seafood Grill.
Based in Dallas and founded in 1975, Brinker International is a recognized leader in casual dining and is among FORTUNE's Most Admired Companies. The company has more than 1,600 restaurants in 24 countries.
When complete, Regency Lakes will be one of the largest shopping centers in Northeast Wichita. It will feature up to 500,000-sq.-ft. of retail and restaurant space. The center's phase one included the opening of Super Target in October 2004, and phase two the October 2005 opening of World Market. In July, plans were announced for a new Emprise Bank to be located in front of Super Target, just south of Chili's. When complete, Regency Lakes will include a total of 12-16 restaurants and stores, eight to ten of which will be located on outparcels throughout the center.
J.P. Weigand & Sons is the exclusive broker for Regency Lakes and Laham Development's other commercial properties.
