BRICK'S ANNOUNCES MOVE TO BRADLEY FAIR
(WICHITA, KS) – Longtime Wichita retailer Brick's has announced
plans to relocate its store to Bradley Fair later this fall. Brick's
will move to the space adjacent to J. Jill. The announcement was
made by Cathy Erickson, vice president of Laham Development, developer
of Bradley Fair, and Russ Gordon, owner of Brick's.
Known as a contemporary men's and women's apparel, accessories and
footwear retailer, the new Brick's at Bradley Fair will offer a
more extensive array of merchandise that appeals to a broader audience.
In addition, the store will feature a unique deconstructive architectural
style with open spaces, polished concrete flooring and sculpted
metal accents. Founded in 1917, Russ Gordon is the second generation
of the Gordon family to own and operate the store.
A project of Laham Development, Bradley Fair lifestyle center opened
in November 1990. The 260,000-square-foot center includes 51 stores
and restaurants, with Brick's the 52nd addition. Among the focal
points of the center is a scenic open-air plaza that features a
year-round fountain, two island waterfalls, a lake, extensive landscaping
and tiered seating. Throughout the summer Bradley Fair plaza hosts
complimentary Friday evening concerts showcasing a mix of national,
regional, and local musical artists. Soon to enter their sixth season,
this year's concerts kickoff June 10 and run through July 29, with
weekly attendance averaging 3,000. The July 1 concert will culminate
with a spectacular aerial fireworks display over Bradley Fair Lake.
Laham Development's other projects include Regency Lakes shopping
center and Plazzio retail and entertainment center. Located at 21st
& Greenwich, the 500,000-square-foot Regency Lakes will be the
largest shopping center in Wichita when complete, offering a total
of 12 to 16 restaurants and stores. The center is anchored by Super
Target with work underway on the recently-announced World Market
store.
Plazzio at 13th & Greenwich encompasses 347,000-square-feet
including retail, restaurants, hotel and entertainment concepts
anchored by the Warren Theatre and The Alley Entertainment Center.
The Warren recently announced a $10 million expansion adding eight
new screens to its existing 12. The 60,000-square-foot Alley, opened
in the fall of 2004, includes 42 lanes of bowling, an indoor go
cart track, sports bar, billiards room for teens and corporate meeting
rooms. Construction is underway on the 91-suite Marriott Residence
Inn being developed by A.G. Development, L.L.C. and the 6,000-square-foot
Sumo Japanese Grill. Both will open later this year.
Project architect for Bradley Fair is Shelden Architecture. J.P.
Weigand & Sons is exclusive leasing agent.
